FULL TIME
Summer Camp Counselors
General Responsibility:
To lead youth in fun, safe, age appropriate
activities and supervise a group at the club or
camp
Specific Responsibilities:

Guide a
trail group of campers through the day at
the club or camp
-
Work
collaboratively with other staff members to
create a safe, positive, and fun environment
for campers
-
Run
counselor activity sessions for your group
-
Assist the
Head Counselor and Activities Specialists in
setting up and leading camp activities
-
Keep your
groups on schedule and arriving at the
proper activity locations
-
Assist with
morning meetings by participating in or
leading songs, games, and skits
-
Assist with
tear down and clean up of activities
-
Provide
basic first aid to campers and complete the
appropriate injury reports
-
Other duties
as assigned
Hours and Pay:
11 weeks of Camp plus training
40hrs per week
Pay begins at $6.75/ hour

PART TIME
Challenge
Course Facilitator-
General Responsibility
Plan, implement, and facilitate challenge course
activities in a safe and meaningful way.
Insure Challenge Course and associated equipment
is in safe operating condition
Skills/Qualifications:

Familiarity
With High/Low Ropes Challenge Elements
preferred

Ability
to plan and implement a wide variety of
activities appropriate to population being
served.

Ability to relate to and supervise people of
any age.

Ability to relate well with community
members from a wide variety of
socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.

Ability to work collaboratively with other
community agencies and professionals in
education and youth development.

Ability to maintain risk management policies
in all programs.

Ability to manage difficult and/or
inappropriate behavior among program
participants.

$12-16/hour commensurate with experience

INTERNSHIPS
$150/wk for 6-12 month
Internships
Challenge Course Intern
This internship will focus on providing the
student with various hard and soft skills needed
to effectively facilitate a challenge course.
Training will cover low and high ropes as well
as the proper use of the pamper pole. In
addition this intern will be responsible for
coordinating and leading groups throughout the
course of the internship. 30 hours a week.
Environmental
Education Intern
This internship will focus on program delivery
for the environmental education program
Wilderness Wonders. A relationship with local
schools is a priority as well as the ability to
manage school age children K-6th
grade. In addition to the established Wilderness
Wonders curriculum this internship will also
develop new series of programs about
sustainability. Alternative fuels, solar
cooking, wind power, composting, and water
treatment are all areas that this intern will
have a direct impact on bringing to the camp and
community. 25 hours a week
Summer Camp Intern
This internship will focus on summer camp
program delivery. Our summer camp runs 11 weeks
and includes Day and Resident camp programs.
However, staff training, evaluation, archery,
waterfront safety, sports activity planning, and
many other pieces are all important aspects of
the job. This position requires a high degree of
commitment to the constant growth and
supervision of children over the course of the
summer. 30 hours a week
Event Planning/Coordination
Intern
This internship will focus on the Reeves Center
and its growth potential as a community
gathering place for retreats, weddings, showers,
celebrations, and corporate meetings. Community
involvement is a key factor in ensuring this
internship is a success. Planning for large and
small groups as well as making the Reeves a
tasteful and fun place to be is what this
internship is all about. The intern will be in
charge of arranging catering, schedules, and all
other aspects of the many potential events held
at the Reeves. 25 hours a week.
