FULL TIME
Summer Camp Counselors
General Responsibility:
To lead youth in fun, safe, age appropriate
activities and supervise a group at the club or
camp
Specific Responsibilities:
-
Guide a
trail group of campers through the day at
the club or camp
-
Work
collaboratively with other staff members to
create a safe, positive, and fun environment
for campers
-
Run
counselor activity sessions for your group
-
Assist the
Head Counselor and Activities Specialists in
setting up and leading camp activities
-
Keep your
groups on schedule and arriving at the
proper activity locations
-
Assist with
morning meetings by participating in or
leading songs, games, and skits
-
Assist with
tear down and clean up of activities
-
Provide
basic first aid to campers and complete the
appropriate injury reports
-
Other duties
as assigned
Hours and Pay:
11 weeks of Camp plus training
40hrs per week
Pay begins at $6.75/ hour

PART TIME
PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Program Assistant Responsibilities
Programs
Train and Facilitate on High/Low Challenge
Course
Assist
with development of Wilderness Therapy
Programming
Manage
aspects of sustainability projects at camp
Assist
and implement school based marketing initiative
Summer Camp
Act as Head Counselor
Develop, promote and supervise a comprehensive
array of well-planned youth programs.
Basic Supervision of camp counselors
Assist with scheduling and activity planning
Some administrative duties such as incident
reports and supply purchasing
Facility Management
Promote Foundation for Youth programs and
special events.
Recycling Program collection and management
Greet and coordinate on-site rental groups
Some Equipment training
Implement and oversee programs/activities in a
variety of program areas assuring appropriate
conduct and safety at all times.
Document appropriate records for all programs
provided.
Assist with facility maintenance when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Hours and Pay:
20-40 hours per week. Workload varies by
season.
Compensation:
Apartment w/ Bathroom, bedroom, and living room,
attached to dining hall
Personal use of camp equipment and resources
$10.00/ hour

Foundation for
Youth/Columbus Youth Camp Internship
The Foundation for Youth/ Columbus Youth Camp
intern program is structured to provide the
intern with a variety of professional
development experiences while allowing the
intern opportunities to explore their own
interests and challenge themselves to reach for
excellence.
Intern Responsibilities

Developing, promoting and supervising a
comprehensive array of well-planned youth
programs.

Develop and foster a climate for youth
development based on the mission and goals
of the organization.

Ensure that members actively participate in
a variety of programs/activities and receive
appropriate instruction when necessary.

Promote and coordinate special events.

Implement and oversee programs/activities in
a variety of program areas assuring
appropriate conduct and safety at all times.

Document appropriate records for all
programs provided.

Assist with facility maintenance when
necessary.

Other duties as assigned.
Hours:
40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend
hours. Workload varies by season.
